dB Meter is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. This privacy policy explains how the app works and what data (if any) is involved.
We do not collect any data. Specifically:
dB Meter requires access to your device's microphone to measure sound levels. Audio data is processed entirely on your device in real time. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted. The app only reads the current sound pressure level — it does not capture or analyze speech, music, or any identifiable audio content.
dB Meter does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics platforms. The app does not make any network requests. It works entirely offline.
The app does not store any data on your device beyond what is necessary for the app to function (e.g., system preferences like dark mode). No measurement data is persisted between sessions.
Since we do not collect any data, the app is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
dB Meter is distributed through Apple's App Store, the Mac App Store, and Google Play. These platforms may collect their own data as described in their respective privacy policies. We have no access to or control over this data.
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page. Given that we do not collect data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
